Welcome to Chindy‘s Boarding & Breeding Cattery

We are situated in Lilyvale A.H. which is approximately 15 minutes from the Benoni town, away from city noises and traffic.

Our boarding facilities provide spacious and hygienic holiday homes for your cats where they will receive hands on owner care and love.

We have been breeding Chinchilla cats since 2003, and have a stunning cattery of three studs and five queens. All our kittens are raised in our home, and are given the best of everything.

Boarding

We have 10 indoor/outdoor pens which can accommodate up to 3 cats per pen. The pens are heated in winter, with ceiling fans for summer. We also have 6 comfortable and spacious outdoor pens, ideal for a family of cats.

Every pen is thoroughly cleaned each day, with litter boxes cleaned at least twice a day.

The cats are fed Royal Canin dry kibbles twice a day. Cat owners may provide their own food if their cats are on special diets. Fresh water is put out at least twice a day.

We will also administer any medication your cat may require.

All cats receive personal, owner love and attention and daily grooming.

We encourage you to visit our cattery to satisfy yourself that your precious cats will be well taken care of during their stay with us.

Fees: R65.00 per day, per cat.

Please book well in advance, specially for December bookings as the pens are usually fully booked by July.

There is no doubt that the Chinchilla Longhair is one of the most beautiful of all cat breeds. Their striking eyes with black liner, and silver/black tipping on their luxurious, silky coats are what attract most people.

Chinchilla Longhair cats have large, round eyes, ranging from aqua marine to emerald, the true colour only showing between ages 2 - 4. Their eyes do not tear, and due to their slightly longer noses, they do not have breathing problems.

Their soft, 'lacy' fur is at its best during winter months when they grow beautiful, full ruffs and thick undercoats. They do require daily grooming, as the fur will knot and form matts in a matter of days if not combed through. Besides being unsightly and unpleasant to the touch, matts cause severe pain if left for any length of time. Extra care should be taken to brush under the cats arms, under the chin, and behind the legs where their fancy 'pantaloons' knot easily, using good quality grooming tools.

Chinchilla Longhair cats are gentle, and placid by nature. They love being around their humans, are affectionate, and are quietly talkative. Due to the amount of grooming they require, they are best suited to being indoor pets perfect for town house living. Provide your cat with a scratch post, a couple of cat nip toys and some scrunched up tin foil, and she will be happy to amuse herself, and you, for hours, and you will never regret being owned by a Chinchilla Longhair!

Our cats and kittens are registered with South African Cat Council.

We currently have four active queens and two active studs, with a new pair being prepared for parenthood! Our kittens are raised underfoot, and are adequately socialized by the time they are ready to leave for their forever homes at age 10-12 weeks. Kittens are sold to approved homes, subject to being sterilized at age 6 months. We usually have a long waiting list for kittens, making booking essential.

Male kittens	: R4000,00, fully registered with SACC and first inoculations at 9 weeks.
Female kittens	: R3000,00, fully registered with SACC and first inoculations at 9 weeks.

Making A Booking...

As we are a small cattery, it is advisable to book early for Christmas and Easter holidays. Our pens can accommodate 1-3 cats per family per pen.

We also encourage you to visit us beforehand so that you can be satisfied that your precious cats will be well taken care of while you are away.
